UVUYOSPHERE
"What does UVU mean?"
It comes from Uvuyosphere...
translation: “Sphere of Joy”; uvuyo means “joy” in Xhosa, in conjunction with sphere an "area/realm/field of interest”
noun: describing a state in being; living within your joy; creating a space of harmony within/around oneself
Designed for a 15" laptop
The Atlas Satchel was designed to be practical, carrying your office with you, and to exude a strong vintage quality with its wood molded construction.
Completely handcrafted (tooled, hammered and stitched) full-grain vegetable tanned bovine leather.
The Crescent Clutch Collection started with a design to reflect the beauty of the new moon developing into a crescent each month as it hangs in the night sky. The new moon crescent is a smile from the universe, as it symbolizes new beginnings and opportunities.
The collection includes three different sizes.
How it started...
Ever since I can remember I only felt alive when I was creating something. It started with water colors and glass painting as a child in Swakopmund, then photography and printmaking in high school in Christchurch, New Zealand, and evolved into building and renovating furniture while at university. But it was only after I had finished my MSc in Plant Biology (UC), thinking I was going to work in science research, that I was introduced to leather-craft. This changed everything for me and my career direction. I moved from a laboratory to my own atelier to pursue my Uvuyosphere…
Leather-craft involves such a varied array of skills, materials and tools that it is always interesting to design and create new projects. I strive to continue challenging myself with new designs, and to create beautiful and quality products.
